Is Auto Detailing Worth it?

Auto detailing is absolutely worth the time and costs. The level of service should always reflect your level of particular needs. We all can’t park in the garage and hand wash our cars once a week. Sometimes we have to take the kids to soccer practice, or take a trip to the dog park, or we’ve just come back from a backpacking adventure and need all the sand out of our mats. Maybe you're preparing your lowrider for the big car show and need the paint to POP!

If your vehicle is well maintained, parked indoors and not being heavily used, the $200 every 3 months or so ($800 yr) is worth it alone for the quality protection you receive on the paint. If the vehicle is daily driven, attracting bugs and parked outdoors, claybar treatment and a deep clean and protection of the interior twice a year is highly recommended at an average of $450 ($900 yr). And if your paint is a high impact color like black, blue or red, and you can’t avoid the swirls in your paint, then a mixture of our Ultimate detail ($650) and the other two for an annual maintenance plan is recommended. Which could be around $1000.

So, on average, your vehicle will cost around $1000 a year to keep it looking good with professional detailing. And here comes the cliche stat, the average person spends $1,100 on coffee annually. Take that as you want, but I’m still buying my coffee!

The point is, it’s really not that expensive to have your vehicle looking good all year long using professional detailing services. A professional detailer will always outline the exact service they’re offering so you know exactly what you are getting, and exactly what you are not getting.

Whatever your particular needs are, if you are dealing with a professional auto detailer, they will tailor a package to fit those needs. Even if they have set package prices. There may be items in a set package that are not needed, and could be better spent elsewhere on the vehicle.

For instance, out Ultimate package includes steam cleaning of the interior and buffing the paint on the exterior. Maybe you have a brand new car that is well maintained on the interior but has been getting sap exposure on the exterior. The steam option may not be needed, but instead a professional detailer can either deduct these costs, or put the cost towards something else, like upgrading the paint protection. Or the opposite can exist; Exterior is in great shape, but the kids destroyed the inside and instead of buffing the paint a detailer can substitute hot water extraction to get deep into heavy stain removal. Or, we professional detailers can completely tailor a package to your exact needs.
